Our school must form an English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC).  This committee meets a few times a school year to discuss mandated topics of interest to Emergent Bilinguals.  This committee supports Emergent Bilinguals by being a voice during budget season to ensure our students are receiving what they need.

Our first meeting is an orientation and overview of the committee and we will also hold an election for committee officers.  It's a great way to get to know other SOEC families and a great way to be a part of our school community.

We MUST elect a chair, vice chair, and secretary.  These elected officers must be parents of Emergent Bilinguals.  It's not difficult and Mrs. Matthews will assist you ALL THE WAY.
