Events

SOEC and SOPA combine to present a full year of fun events for all to enjoy. ALL DATES SUBJECT TO CHANGE

The Ice Cream Social is held on the playground, with teachers and volunteers serving ice cream sundaes to all who attend. This free event is a great way to welcome everyone to a new school year. Come this year and meet our new Principal.

The Halloween Carnival is the biggest event of the school year at SOEC. Attended by a few thousand people, this event includes a trick-or-treat village, inflatables, games and prizes, arts and crafts, a DJ and dance area, and plenty of delicious food truck options. Some recent new additions include glitter and flash tattoos, a soccer arena, Caricature artist, Toddler Play inflatables, mini golf course, Zorb racing, and Ultra Zone laser tag. We end the calendar year with a beautiful morning concert, the Winter Sing.  This wonderful event includes all grades performing 2-3 holiday songs.  The school Chorus also performs.

In the spring our Musical Theater program puts on a performance not to miss.  This years performance is Peter Pan Jr.. There are 3 shows giving everyone an opportunity to come: Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoon. Be sure to get your tickets early since this does sell out.

The PJs and Books night is a wonderful event where over a hundred kids and their parents converge on the school wearing their favorite pajamas. After having stories read by various authors and performers, the kids enjoy milk and cookies, freshly baked and provided by the community.

The Tiger Walk/Run is a great event where students collect pledges from friends, family and neighbors to match the number of laps they run around the yard. Whether its just a few laps for the younger kids or double digits for the older kids, all the children really give their all for this event. Parent volunteers hand out cups of water to the runners, mark their laps, and cheer for all the great effort given by the student body.

Our school year would not be complete without an evening planned just for adults.   It always promises to be an evening filled with food & fun.  We of course have both a silent auction and a live auction, with something available for every member of the family.  There is a delicious dinner menu and a sweet bar offering an amazing array of desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth. Check out the Gala page for all of the updated information on the current event.

We close the year with our annual Spring Sing. Again we watch the growth of our children as they close their school year with songs from around the world.

Everyone loves to be thanked. And no one is more deserving than our amazing teachers.  Teacher Appreciation is a luncheon that provides just that. This event is a favorite of the teachers, not only because they get to see how special we think they are, but it is also a fun time and a delicious lunch.  This is always a special day for the teachers and staff of SOEC.

The Scholastic Book Fair takes place in our auditorium, with kids and families shopping for great books, all to benefit SOEC and the school library.
