TALENT SHOW 2016-2017- Information
So you think you’ve got talent??? Then it’s time to prove it!
On March 18th, 2017, SOEC will be holding it’s annual Talent Show and we’re looking for a bunch of students to blow us away this year.
Sign-ups will be on the yard on January 23rd & 24th. Auditions will be held February 7th, 8th & 14th.
-Students must have all necessary equipment, props, music, and costumes prepared and present at the time of their audition.
-All music, props, equipment, and costumes must be school/age appropriate.
-If a song requires lyrical changes to make it school/age appropriate, the changes are the responsibility of the student and his or her family. All lyrical changes to songs must be done and prepared for the audition.
-All dance routines need to be completely choreographed at the time of the audition.
-Acappella auditions are rarely considered for the show. If you are unable to find music for your audition song, please let Ms. Wheeler know ahead of time so she can assist in locating your act’s music.
Audition Judging Criteria
-The judges will only be accepting 25-30 acts. We have over 100 auditions
-Auditions will be scored on a scale from 1-5. Auditions receiving a score of 5 are guaranteed a spot in the show. Auditions receiving a score of 4 will be considered for the show. Any auditions receiving a score of 3 or lower will not be considered for the show.
-When considering each act, the judges are looking for the following: preparation, enthusiasm, stage presence, eye contact, pitch accuracy, and confidence. The judges will also be considering the behavior and responsibility of the student.
-Parents will not be permitted at auditions.
-Students and parents will uphold behavior that is indicative of a school function and a child friendly show. Disrespect of other cast members or Talent Show Volunteers will not be tolerated.
Out of respect for those auditioning, NO Parents are allowed into the auditorium during auditions.
Students: When it’s your turn to audition, please begin by introducing your Name, Grade, and Teacher’s name followed by the Name of your Act.
If you are performing a song, please let the judges know the Name of the Song and Original Recording Artist and please have music ready to go.
Good luck, Have Fun and Be Loud!!!
If students are selected to participate in the Talent Show they will required to sign and return the Parent-Performer contract.
