Welcome to Sherman Oaks Elementary Charter.
Nestled among the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, Sherman Oaks Elementary Charter is home to approximately 865 students in Transitional Kindergarten through grade 5. Our school originally opened in 1924 and has been designated a historical landmark by the City of Los Angeles. As an LAUSD affiliated charter school, we emphasize depth of learning in the core academic subjects of reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies, as well as an expansive curriculum of enrichment studies such as visual arts, performing arts, physical education, technology, media arts, and leadership.
We hope you enjoy perusing through our web site, which strives to represent our school on-line to give you a good feeling for the dynamic events and culture of the school.

If you are considering our school, nothing beats actually visiting and experiencing it in person. After reading about all that we have to offer, please come on a school tour to meet some parents, teachers, principal and staff, and see the children in their daily environment. We believe their smiles and their impressive schoolwork will speak to what an amazing school Sherman Oaks Elementary Charter is.
Until then, enjoy!
